Is Katherine Heigl Leaving ‘Grey’s Anatomy’?

Katherine Heigl plays Izzie Stevens on ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ and though she has had some ups and downs in her roles (sleeping with the dead Denny), she is a beloved and integral cast member on the hit ABC show.

However, it seems as if Katherine Heigl never got over Isiah Washingtons homophobic statements, George’s leaving and her role as a psycho who thought she was sleeping with her deceased love. Not to mention the statement she gave about not wanting an Emmy nomination or win for her role as Izzy Stevens a few years ago.

Now it seems that Ms. Heigl has finally gotten her way and ABC has allowed her to leave her contract and ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ in the dust. At least that is what BuddyTv is reporting. Not that it really matters, I suppose, as Izzy hasn’t been in the show in ages. She left when Alex Karev (her husband played by Justin Chambers) told her he didn’t love her and that she should move far away. And that was the last we saw and may ever see of Izzie Stevens.

Part of me is sad as I really like Katherine Heigl as an actress and though her character did turn me off last season I would have liked her to come back and fight for Alex. I guess we we will have to wait and see if ABC formally announces her leaving the show in the next few days and weeks.
