UPDATE
THE NEW ‘ECLIPSE’ TRAILER IS HERE FROM OPRAH SHOW!!
Kristen Stewart recently gave an interview to ‘Entertainment Weekly’ where she spoke about her character Bella Swan. However, something is not quite right and would seem to indicate that ‘Eclipse’ the movie has strayed from the book’s contents or Kristen Stewart doesn’t know her character very well.
The quote that has everyone up in the air is:
“I wasn’t as tortured as I was on ‘New Moon’. Bella really knows what she wants in Eclipse. She’s not just a dumb kid talking because she’s in love.”
However, those of us who have actually read Stephenie Meyer’s book know that this is the book where Bella really isn’t sure about who she wants as she finds herself in love with both Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner).
While it seems as if the movie is focusing somewhat on the love triangle, we see both men declaring their love and fighting for her, her comments would seem to indicate that as far as Bella Swan is concerned there is only one choice. Which, while romantic and sweet, is not accurate to the story of ‘Eclipse’.

I think everyone agrees from what I have read above – she always would end up with Edward and in Eclipse that’s even more true. She just didn’t want to lose Jacob as a loving friend. So Kristin knows Bella inside and out. I think it sounds, at least to me, that what she says is true. Can’t wait to see Eclipse.
I think bella knows what she wants and that is Edward. She knows she’ sgonna choose him no matter what? In the book she comes to the realization that she also loves Jacob but I dont think that there was ever a doubt that she was going to CHOOSE Edward in the end. I think the only regret that she had was the fact that she knew she would hurt Jacob badly and nobody wants to hurt someone they love, especially someone who has done as much for them as Jacob di for bella in New Moon. So I think that Kristen’s take on the situation was on point.Bella is sad in the end for the decision she has to make but she is resolved.
You sure you read the book. Cuz what kristin stewart says is right. Bella knows what she wants…she knew it as she was kissing jacob. Only thing she didn’t know is that she was in love with jacob as well.
So please for the love of god, your as bad as the actors and all the other adults working on this project…learn how to read the book and interpret correctly.
Bella really isn’t as tortured in this book…really the jake and bella kiss doesn’t fit at all…its kinda just a total loophole in the book and to the story and meant nothing cuz she still knew the whole time she was doing it that it was always edward. Thats the only time she felt tortured…she felt so bad that no matter how much she loved jake, it would never be enough.
Bella was NOT confused for the majority of Eclipse. She did not believe she was in love with Jacob until she kissed him just before the battle. There was no conflict in her mind before that, and even after that she was set on Edward. From that point, she knew she was choosing the one she couldn’t live without and although Edward questioned if she made the right choice, she didn’t.
I think Kristen was pretty spot on.
I think Stewart made a clear point and I understood what she meant. I agree what she said about Bella knowing what she wants coz she’s in love. Perhaps the person who wrote this article forgot the fact that Bella showed Jacob that she LOVES Edward when he tried to kiss her and tell her his inner feelings. She knew what she wanted. She wanted Edward and she wanted to become a vampire after graduation. She’s desperate. That’s what Stewart meant.
I agree with her. Bella wants Edward as her boyfriend and Jacob as her best friend. She is a little confused when she understands she loves jacob more than she thought but she never really changes her mind about being turned and spending her life with edward
To say that the movie is not true to the book, based on Kristen’s comments, indicate that the Author of this article didnt understand the book very well.
Through the first 90% of the book, Bella is sure that she wants Edward…. she only wants Jacob as a friend (she even punches him when he kiss her), only at the VERY end (just before the fight with the new-borns) does she realise that she is in love with Jacob too…. but even then she knows, that she loves him so much, but “Not nearly enough” to make a difference. She never faltered in her love for Edward… not even in the book.
Woops. Should say “I do not agree with this review”. Not “I am do not” !!!! And I guess its not really a review because no one has scene the movie yet. Either way I am very excited about seeing the movie.
Loved the books and loved the first two movies. People obviously do not get how difficult it is to turn a book into a movie and be pleasing to the fans, the studio and all the peole who have money into the progect. And when I read Eclipse (many times) I always felt that Bella had chosen Edward and was only confused that maybe Jacob would have been better but only loved him as a best friend. So I am do not agree with this review.
Everyone knows that Kristen Stewart isn’t very well-spoken. She’s probably one of the worst interviewees in Hollywood. I can tell you exactly how the movie’s going to be: lackluster and mediocre. That’s the trend with all the Twilight movies. I’m a devoted fan to the saga and I was EXTREMELY displeased with the first two. I have bleak hopes for the remainder of the series. Maybe in 30 – 50 years they’ll remake it and do a better job.
