Miley Cyrus made famous for her role in Disney’s ‘Hannah Montana’ has inspired a lot of hateful talk and envy from other teen stars, and some adults. Many are just jealous at the level of success she has achieved at such an early age and some are rightfully upset at some of the outfit choices she has made in her music videos.
For while Miley Cyrus is trying to break out of her tween and teen girl idol status, that is still the key demographic that enjoys her music, TV show and style. And parents don’t want their kids looking up to someone who dresses and gyrates like a stripper because everyone knows kids will emulate their idols.
However, the latest attacks on Miley Cyrus have come from people like ‘Gossip Girls’ Taylor Momsen, who have dissed her music and singing. I’m not a huge Miley Cyrus fan but I think she has a good voice and most of her songs are catchy and fun. Unfortunately the comments made by some of these critics were rude and unfortunate but Miley Cyrus is not taking them on.
Miley Cyrus recently said of the negative comments:
“I don’t really listen to criticism because if you don’t want to watch my video you can always turn it off. Or if you don’t want to listen to my music you don’t have to…So I’ve never been one to really care about what people think, because I’m the artist and that’s the art that I’m doing.”
I agree, if someone doesn’t like it, don’t listen to it. There are plenty of radio stations and songs I switch off when I don’t like what I hear. People like Taylor Momsen are just haters of Miley Cyrus.
