‘The Switch’ is a movie starring Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman and while the title of the movie doesn’t tell you much about the premise of the movie you can somewhat guess what type of movie it will be based upon the two main stars.
While many critics have criticized the movie and said that the box office numbers of this movie show that Jennifer Aniston has lost her ability to draw large numbers, the movie is still pretty good. It is an atypical romantic comedy with a typical ending- and while it drew comparisons to Jennifer Lopez’s ‘The Back-Up Plan’ it is 100 times better.
The story centers around Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman as best friends who have never hooked up or been romantically involved. Jennifer decides that she wants a baby and seeks a donor as she has no man in her life. Jason gets drunk, switches his sperm out for the donor, forgets and Jennifer gets pregnant and leaves town.
Fast forward 7 years, Jennifer is back in town with her son and he has many tendencies of Jason Bateman’s character. However, neither of them seem to notice or realize just how alike they are. While ‘The Switch’ is unbelievable in many ways and the love story is pretty weak, there is obvious chemistry between Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman and the child actor that played the son was adorable.
Overall, ‘The Switch’ wasn’t a great or horrible movie but is most probably one to save for the DVD que.
