Simon Cowell may be focusing on his new TV show ‘X-Factor’ right now but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have time to take jabs at ‘American Idol’ and new judge Steven Tyler. Simon Cowell was on Jay Leno and told a quite funny story about his mother calling him from London. Basically, his mother, who is 86, didn’t realize he was no longer on ‘American Idol’ (not really sure that I believe that, but oh well). She called him on the phone and according to Simon Cowell, his mother then had this to say about the show’s judges: “Tell Jennifer, the new girl, I like her. Give my love to Randy. And, true story, tell Paula [Abdul] she looks a bit tired.”
So, his mother was cognizant enough to know that Jennifer Lopez was on the show, but not Steven Tyler? And oh, where is the shout-out to Ryan Seacrest? No love to him? I’m sure Steven Tyler isn’t going to take Simon Cowell’s words personally though, I mean the guy is a rock star, he’s heard a lot worse! And hey, he’s still doing well as a judge on ‘American Idol’.
