Russell Brand was on ‘The View’ this morning and he had the ladies in giggles and the audience members laughing out loud as well. Russell Brand is indeed a funny man, funnier than I thought and I think his appearance on ‘The View’ will definitely help to bring a certain demographic to his movies that may not have necessarily gone before.
Russell Brand started off his stint on ‘The View’ discussing his marriage to pop star Katy Perry and he said that it’s like every normal marriage between a pop star and a man who stars in films. Katy Perry supposedly tells him a lot, “Are you wearing that shirt then?” when she wants him to change.
It was his almost snuggling up to Barbara Walters that had many of the women on ‘The View’ giggling. Especially when Barbara asked Russell Brand “You know how babies are made?” He responded “I am thoroughly well versed, thank you. I’ve had lots of practice.”
Russell Brand is also in talks to star in ‘Rock of Ages’ with Tom Cruise and Alec Baldwin. But it will depend on schedules on money to see if the contracts work out. Barbara Walters then told Russell Brand that she thinks he should host the Oscars and that they should start a movement. I agree. I think that Russell Brand would make a hilarious host of the Academy Awards.
The ladies of ‘The View’ then asked Russell if he would be going to the Royal wedding. Russell responded that he wasn’t invited and so yes, he would be attending. I’m sure Prince William and Kate Middleton would just love it if he crashed the wedding, but perhaps the Queen wouldn’t be so impressed.
Even though Russell Brand provided a free comedy show on the show today, he did also promote his two new movies ‘Arthur’ and ‘Hop’.
